Solar Energy
Solar energy has been available to the public for many years although it has taken time to be widely adopted in Italy. One reason is that traditional solar panels have always had a negative impact on building design, but today there are new alternatives.
Integrated solar systems
AMORPHOUS solar panels are transparent and are therefore suitable for installation on windows, porches and wall-facings. The new systems, with their modest cost, permit transformation of sun radiation into clean and free heat energy that can be used for heating water at a saving of up to 80% in costs.
The State has also understood the importance of such an energy source and has launched a national and regional programme for saving incentives on taxes aimed at favouring development of a new enery era. In addition to heat, the house can produce electricity. Thanks to PHOTOVOLTAIC systems that can be integrated into any roof, the sun’s rays can now be used to produce energy.
But how are savings possible? The energy produced is read by a meter and completely reimbursed by the supplier under an exchange contract – outlined in Resolution No. 224/00 of 6 December 2000 – which allows deduction from personal use of every kilowatt produced. This sector, too, is incentivated at a national and local level by tax contributions and savings.
